Local Area Information - Places to Visit

The Dordogne region of south-west France is one of the most beautiful and popular destinations in the country, with its relaxing sunshine and plenty to do and see appeal.

Staying in this amazing region of France you will discover delicious dining, local produce and wines all whilst visiting quaint medieval towns and pretty villages with its many restaurants, cafés and bistros. Most towns have regular markets and night markets throughout the summer. There are magnificent rivers to explore by canoe or leisure boat, river beaches, children’s activity parks, prehistoric caves and museums all surrounded by unspoiled countryside, - these are just some of the many reasons why people come and visit us

Situated in the hamlet of Pauliac in the peaceful countryside of the Perigord Noir, Les Côtes Pauliac provides an ideal base from which to visit the many attractions of the Dordogne e.g. Castle Nord, Chateau Hautefort, Market Towns such as Sarlat and Perigueux, the World Heritage site of the Lascaux caves and more.,

Supermarkets are within easy reach at Thenon and Excideuil. A small village store is just 4km away at St Orse. A Boulangerie is 10 Minutes drive at Sainte Eulalia d’Ans.  Further afield at Trélissac (30 minutes drive) is a large commercial collection of hypermarkets and specialist retail outlets.

We recommend a visit to the  underground caves / boat ride at Padirac and the Lascaux IV caves/visitor centre at Montignac. In the summer months you should book your visits on line before travelling to France as availability can be busy.
